Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

6 marathons- Chicago 2001 (3:57...my goal was 5:00!), Chicago 2002, Venice Italy 2003, Okinawa Japan 2007, Okinawa 2008, Gold Coast Australia 2008

Plenty of half marathons, 10ks, 5ks, etc. Some PRs, some age group awards.

My most significant & defining running accomplishment was being named "Most Dedicated Runner" every season that I competed on my high school cross country team. A decade later, I still try to live up to that award!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Get closer to my marathon PR and eventually bust it!

Be more competitive (in time and in spirit) in shorter races.

Run a marathon before June 2009.

Run another marathon before Jan 2010.

Run at least 4 days a week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Boston Qualifier...even if it takes me til I'm 80!

"Run" a triathlon.

No interesting stories about today's run, other than the fact that I actually got out and did it!

Tuesday and Wednesday I was always either lazy or dealing with things related to our move, or too freezing to remove my pajamas. (It is in the 50s here, but still...we're not used to that "cold"!)

I was planning to do 3 or 4 more this evening, but after a day of watching my friend's little girl at ballet, lunch, gymnastics, the commissary and playing with all the "toys" (my shoes) at my house, I couldn't resist her sweet little invitation to come over and play with her toys, see her dog, and eat dinner at her house. I finally returned home after almost 10 hours and I'm pooped.  I'm quite amazed that some runners have the energy to wrangle a 3 year old for an entire day and still manage to run anywhere but the couch at the end of it!

If I run twice tomorrow or twice on Saturday (probably tomorrow), I will still manage 5 runs for the week.

That is funny Becca... about the kids. I've got a gaggle of kids and I run to hide :) I love the alone time. I love the quiet. I love the NO, "MOM come wipe me!!!" I love the NO, "MOM- Will just threw a truck at Mac and Mac is bleeding all over the new sofa!!!" "MOM, where is my backpack???" "MOM- why didn't you wash my volleyball uniform!!! I put it there 10 min ago and it's NOT done yet???"

Yes- I am tired and YES- i LOVE the sofa!! My favorite thing to do is curl up with my big quilt on the couch and watch movies. I am a couch potato!! :)

Have a great day and good luck with the move details :)
