Running Accomplishments:

6 marathons- Chicago 2001 (3:57...my goal was 5:00!), Chicago 2002, Venice Italy 2003, Okinawa Japan 2007, Okinawa 2008, Gold Coast Australia 2008

Plenty of half marathons, 10ks, 5ks, etc. Some PRs, some age group awards.

My most significant & defining running accomplishment was being named "Most Dedicated Runner" every season that I competed on my high school cross country team. A decade later, I still try to live up to that award!

Be more competitive (in time and in spirit) in shorter races.

Run a marathon before June 2009.

Run another marathon before Jan 2010.

Run at least 4 days a week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Boston Qualifier...even if it takes me til I'm 80!

"Run" a triathlon.

Okay... I'm back! Or at least I'll try to be.

I have been running really sporadically, but I decided that I am going to be more committed in September...and on August 30, a comment from Kelli popped up in my e-mail and I knew I had to get back to blogging to make myself accountable!

After I moved, it took forever to get phone/cable/internet hooked up in my house. Shortly after everything was hooked up, my computer started acting really funny... it wouldn't turn off for the longest time, and finally when I got it to turn off, it wouldn't turn back on! My husband mailed me our laptop so I wouldn't go crazy! That was in June. In July, we met up in Florida to go on a cruise. We spent about 2 weeks together then he headed back to his base and I headed back to "mine".

I love my neighborhood/town. There is a nice system of running/walking paths, but somehow I can only ever find routes that are 3-4 miles long! One day I was out running and I was sure I'd get 8 miles in, since I had absolutely no idea where I was...one turn and suddenly I was right outside my subdivision! I have a friend who is trying to start running too. She lives 2 miles away, so I run over to her house, walk with a few minutes of running with her, and then run home.

I'm happy to be back here! I'll have to spend some time later checking the other blogs (unfortunately, all of my bookmarks are on my broken computer!

YEAH, welcome back! I am glad to hear you are alive and well and that you have been having fun!!! Are you teaching?

My neighborhood has a bunch of paths, too, but they only go about the same distance. So, I start on the paths, run on the roads, go back to the paths, I just wander until I get the miles in.

So, the post you read was for August 11th. I started running again last week, after 3 weeks off (which was preceeded by a week of running and 3 weeks off---that week I did too much and set my injury right back). I have to be careful...not so good at that!

Good to check up on you again!!!
